How to Use Expense Categories in Shift Calendar RUIX
Tracking expenses is easier when your spending records are organized clearly.
In Shift Calendar RUIX, the Expense Categories feature helps you manage different types of spending records, such as foods, transportation, cash withdrawal, pay bills, and custom expense categories.
This is useful for shift workers, day workers, part-time workers, freelancers, and anyone who wants a simple way to record and review expenses inside a calendar app.
What Are Expense Categories?
Expense Categories help you separate different types of spending records.
Instead of recording every expense under one general label, you can organize your expenses by category. This makes your monthly and yearly summaries easier to understand.
For example, you may want to separate:
-
Foods
-
Transportation
-
Cash withdrawal
-
Pay bills
-
Medical
-
Shopping
-
Family expenses
-
Other custom spending records
This helps your expense records stay cleaner and easier to review later.
Step 1: Open the Settings Page
First, open Shift Calendar RUIX and go to the Settings tab.
On the Settings page, scroll down until you see Manage Categories.
The description shows:
Edit earnings, expense, and leave categories
Tap Manage Categories to continue.
Step 2: Open Expense Categories
Inside the Manage Categories page, you can manage different record categories.
Tap Expense Categories to open the expense category list.
This page allows you to view the default expense categories and add your own custom categories when needed.
Step 3: Review the Default Expense Categories
Shift Calendar RUIX includes default expense categories to help you start quickly.
The default expense categories include:
-
Cash withdrawal
-
Foods
-
Pay bills
-
Transportation
These categories are useful for common daily spending records.
For example, you can use Foods for meals, Transportation for travel costs, Pay bills for regular payments, and Cash withdrawal when you want to record money taken out as cash.
Step 4: Add a Custom Expense Category
If the default categories are not enough, you can add your own custom category.
On the Expense Categories page, you will see an Add Custom Category section.
You can enter a new category name, such as:
-
Medical
-
Shopping
-
Family
-
Groceries
-
Insurance
-
School fees
-
Subscriptions
-
Entertainment
After entering the name, tap Add.
Your custom category helps you record expenses in a way that matches your personal lifestyle or work needs.
Why Expense Categories Are Useful
