How to Use Earnings Categories in Shift Calendar RUIX
Tracking earnings is easier when your income records are organized clearly.
In Shift Calendar RUIX, the Earnings Categories feature helps you manage different types of income records, such as salary, bonus, public holiday overtime, rest day overtime, and custom earnings categories.
This is useful for shift workers, day workers, part-time workers, freelancers, and anyone who wants a simple way to organize income records inside a calendar app.
What Are Earnings Categories?
Earnings Categories help you separate different types of income records.
Instead of recording all earnings under one general label, you can organize them by category. This makes your monthly and yearly summaries easier to understand.
For example, you may want to separate:
Salary
Bonus
Public Holiday OT
Rest Day OT
Weekend OT
Allowance
Commission
Other custom income records
This helps your earnings records stay clean and easier to review later.
Step 1: Open the Settings Page
First, open Shift Calendar RUIX and go to the Settings tab.
On the Settings page, scroll down until you see Manage Categories.
The description shows:
Edit earnings, expense, and leave categories
Tap Manage Categories to continue.
Step 2: Open Earnings Categories
Inside the Manage Categories page, you will see three options:
Earnings Categories
Expense Categories
Leave Categories
Tap Earnings Categories.
This page lets you view the default earnings categories and add your own custom categories when needed.
Step 3: Review the Default Earnings Categories
Shift Calendar RUIX includes default earnings categories to help you start quickly.
The default earnings categories include:
Bonus
Public Holiday OT
Rest Day OT
Salary
These default categories are useful for common work income records.
For example, if you receive normal monthly pay, you can use Salary.
If you earn extra income from working on a public holiday, you can use Public Holiday OT.
If you work on a rest day, you can use Rest Day OT.
Step 4: Add a Custom Earnings Category
If the default categories are not enough, you can add your own custom category.
On the Earnings Categories page, you will see an Add Custom Category section.
You can enter a new category name, such as:
Weekend OT
Transport Allowance
Meal Allowance
Sales Commission
Side Income
Project Payment
After entering the name, tap Add.
Your custom category will help you record income in a way that matches your own work situation.
Why Earnings Categories Are Useful
Earnings Categories help make your records more accurate and organized.
They are useful because they help you:
Separate salary from overtime
Track bonus payments
Record public holiday overtime
Record rest day overtime
Add income types that match your own work
Review earnings more clearly in summaries
Export more meaningful reports
Instead of only knowing your total income, you can better understand where your income came from.
Useful for Shift Workers and Day Workers
Although Shift Calendar RUIX is designed with shift workers in mind, Earnings Categories are also useful for day workers.
A day worker may use categories like:
Salary
Bonus
Allowance
Commission
A shift worker may use categories like:
Public Holiday OT
Rest Day OT
Weekend OT
Night Shift Allowance
A freelancer may use categories like:
Project Payment

This makes the feature flexible for different types of users.
Better Monthly and Yearly Records
When your earnings are organized by category, your summaries become easier to read.
This can help when you want to review:
Monthly income
Yearly earnings
Overtime income
Bonus history
Work-related payments
Custom income sources
